Acupuncture treatments use very small, hair-thin needles. A treatment can utilize anywhere from 3-20 needles at once. They may be left on the skin for various lengths of time, and they may be manipulated with heat or electrically energized. Some people feel a tiny prick, and others feel nothing. Sessions generally run for 15 to 30 minutes. Some patients say they feel an electrical sensation during a treatment, which is good – because that means healing energy is moving through the body.
