How Chiropractic Works
You may be wondering, how can the same chiropractic treatment which effectively treats my back pain also optimize my health? The answer can be found by looking into the relationship between the spine and the nervous system.
As you may already know, the nervous system is the master controller of all living cells, tissues and organs; orchestrating and coordinating all cellular functions. The spinal column encases the nervous system (spinal cord and nerve roots) and is responsible for its protection.

Because of this intimate relationship, bio-mechanical and structural problems in the spinal column can irritate parts of the enclosed nervous system. This irritation can result from noxious inflammatory biochemicals released during tissue injury or may result from direct mechanical pressure. In either case, the functioning of the nervous system is negatively influenced as is the functioning of the cells, tissues and organs which are supplied by the affected nerve(s).
The resulting ailment(s) depends on the cells, tissues and organs affected as well as the extent of nervous system compromise.
In short, because the body’s innate recuperative powers are affected by and integrated through the nervous system, correcting spinal abnormalities which irritate the nervous system can lead to a number of favorable results in patients suffering from various, seemingly non-spinal health conditions.

Where Pain Starts
Often, our patients who visit us for pain management and treatment for conditions causing other uncomfortable symptoms are suffering from an underlying injury. An injury can occur from falling, car accident injury, participating in a sport or any other event that causes physical impact. When an injury misaligns the vertebrae in the spine, the disc, tissue swelling, or positioning of the vertebrae may place pressure on the nerve exiting from that area. This can produce a number of symptoms depending on what that nerve supplies. Every movement and function of the body is supplied by the nervous system, so any decrease in nerve flow to a particular area will result in a symptom.
If you’ve got back pain, you’ve come to the right place. With our physical medicine approach, we can help you with a variety of different tools.

Yes. Because the nervous system controls every part of the body, correcting spinal problems that irritate nerves can help many conditions that do not seem spine-related. Our office treats a wide range of health and pain conditions, from headaches to sleep problems.
Injuries from falls, car accidents, and sports are a common cause of the problems we treat. An injury can misalign the vertebrae and put pressure on nearby nerves. We look for that underlying cause instead of only treating the symptom.
Our doctors use specialized techniques and equipment, including Activator Methods, Diversified, manual adjusting, decompression, traction, and more. Your care is matched to your condition.
