Natural Injection Therapy
Natural Trigger Point Injections
Natural trigger point injections, using plant-based Sarapin, “marinate” the muscle tissue, softening the trigger point and allowing the toxins to dissipate. Muscle pain and tenderness are the most common conditions treated with natural trigger point injections, but they actually help with a wide variety of symptoms including but not limited to: sciatic pain, intercostal neuralgia, barachial plexus neuralgia, lumbar neuralgia and tendonitis.
Supartz is a hyaluronic acid replacement therapy commonly used to treat the joint pain of osteoarthritis. It is a solution of hyaluronate, a natural substance that cushions and lubricates a knee joint. Synovial fluid in a healthy joint contains the body’s own hyaluronan which acts as a lubricant and shock absorber. Osteoarthritis reduces the synovial fluid’s ability to protect and lubricate of a knee joint, which is what causes knee pain. Supartz helps nourish knee cartilage by replacing synovial fluid to keep the joint slippery.
Use of Supartz
Supartz is an FDA-approved treatment for osteoarthritis of the knee in those who have failed to respond to simple pain killers, exercise or physical therapy. It is injected directly into the knee and can provide long-lasting pain management with just a single course of treatment (five injections given once a week). At your appointment, our medical provider may use local anesthetic to numb your knee. Afterwards, Supartz will be injected into the joint space. You may be advised to refrain from doing strenuous activities for a couple of days after the injection.
Source of Supartz
Supartz is a solution consisting of highly purified sodium hyaluronate (hyaluronan). Sodium hyaluronate is extracted from rooster combs;?sodium hyaluronate is also known as hyaluronan or hyaluronic acid. ?It is then formulated and sterilized into finished drug products that are commonly used in treatments and surgeries. Hyaluronan or hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in connective tissues of humans and animals. Supartz is one of the hyaluronates used in visco-supplementation. It plays a key role in cushioning and lubricating the body and is abundant in the eyes, joint, and heart valves. Supartz is injected directly into the knee joint to restore the cushioning and lubricating properties of normal joint fluid.
The safety and effectiveness of Supartz were observed in five clinical trials. Studies were conducted in Germany, Sweden, France, UK and Australia. 5 weekly injections of Supartz or salt water placebo were performed in one knee joint of each patient. In the French study, there were 3 treatment groups: 5 Supartz injections per patient, 3 Supartz and 2 salt water injections per patient, or 5 salt water injections per patient. In the result of five studies where 619 patients received Supartz and 537 received salt water, it was shown that five weekly injections of Supartz into the knee is both safe and effective in relieving pain associated with osteoarthritis of the knee that failed to respond with simple painkillers or exercise and physical therapy.

Natural Joint Injections
Used for unrelenting pain, osteoarthritis or a chronic injury. If you have tried painkillers, physical therapy and exercise and are still in pain, you may be a candidate for all natural joint injections. Joint injections can be used on hip, knee or shoulder joints. Best of all, because we used medicine derived from plants, rather than cortisone, our injections have no known side effects.
Sarapin is an aqueous solution derived from the pitcher plant (Sarracenia purpurea), which is effective in pain management. It has been used successfully as a biological medicine over 70 years. This pitcher plant extract is an FDA-approved prescription product. It is believed that the effectiveness of Sarapin arises from its ability to initiate body’s own natural healing. In an earlier study, the preparation was noted to have an effect upon sensory nerves, relieving neuralgic pain without change in skin sensation, and having no effect upon the motor nerves. Tests of toxicity revealed that it was harmless and no evidence of tissue coagulation or sclerosis could be found.
Sarapin has been used extensively for the relief of muscular & nerve pain. Sarapin treatments can help with many types of muscle or nerve condition such as:
- Sciatic Pain
- Hip Pain
- Low Back Pain
- Mid Back Pain
- Upper Back Pain
- Pain Between the Ribs
- Neck Pain
- Pain down the Arms
For treatments of neuralgic pain, Sarapin’s selective action on the C fibers and its lack of effect on motor nerves make Sarapin superior to anesthetics such as procaine which act merely by anesthetizing the entire nerve and surrounding tissue. Also, there is no tissue destruction as is the case when alcohol is used; there are no systemic reactions, and a lasting effect is obtained. Sarapin is as effective as steroids in pain management for chronic, persistent low back pain. Using Sarapin has more advantages over conventional drugs; it has no accumulation of it in any organ such as the liver, and your body excretes it without your liver processing it.
Sarapin vs. Cortisone
Sarapin and Cortisone are similar to each other in some ways. They can both be used to reduce inflammation and they both provide proper pain management. Also, the FDA and AMA recognize them, and both require prescriptions for treatments requiring injections. Lastly, they are both recognized as possible treatments for the ailments mentioned. However, Sarapin and cortisone have differences as well. Sarapin is a biological medicine, meaning it is acquired from a naturally occurring organism. Cortisone is a chemical medicine, meaning it is made from a chemical process. Unlike cortisone, which can be toxic, Sarapin is non-toxic and does not accumulate in the organs. Cortisone may cause side effects including thinning of skin, easy bruising, weight gain, puffiness of the face, increase in blood pressure, cataract formation, osteoporosis, and avascular necrosis which is rare but can cause serious damage. Sarapin has no known side effects. It has no damaging or weakening effect on cartilages, bones, or tendons, which makes it possible to administer Sarapin treatments multiple times within a short period for maximum pain management.
It was stated that Sarapin produced prolonged relief in contrast to fleeting or negative results with other solutions, Novocain, saline, and water. In a number of instances, patients with neuralgic pain obtained prolonged relief by a subsequent injection of pitcher plant distillate compared to Novocain.
